These are my most frequently asked questions but if there's anything else you'd like to know, please get in touch. I love meeting new people and I'd love to hear about your plans for your big day.
I work a couple of different ways during wedding days. Most of the time I am like a fly on the wall documenting the day. I anticipate moments and photograph them very unobtrusively and without getting in the way of you enjoying the day with your family and friends. But I also love making elegant and contemporary portraits of my couples and that takes a very a small part of the day. We usually sneak off somewhere quiet for just 20-30 minutes and that gives me plenty of time to make a series of nice photos for you. I don't really pose my couples because I've found that results in fake, stiff photos. What I prefer to do is find a nice scene, put you in some good light and then have you interact with each other. I won't be asking you to smile at the camera or say cheese!
So in short, my style could be described as 90% photo-journalistic and 10% portraiture.
Easy! Just get in touch and let me know your date. I recommend that you do this as soon as possible, especially if you're getting married during the summer as key weekend dates do fill up fast. I like to meet my couples in person at the booking stage so we'll find a day and time that works for you and I'll come over to see you. To secure your date it's a £250 booking fee with the balance due no later than 21 days before your wedding. There's also a contract we all sign which makes it all official.
I do, if you want them. I tend not to post them on my website as they don't really represent my style but I do understand that they are important to your family so we'll find time to do them during the day (if you want to!). I always recommend though that you keep the number of groups to less than 10 if possible or you'll find that you quickly get tired of smiling at the camera!
Absolutely. I don't delegate or assign work to other photographers. Everything you see on this site is by me. If you book me, you get me. Simple as that!
I don't want you to have to wait any longer than is absolutely necessary to see your photos. I aim to complete the editing process within 6 weeks, though during peak times this may be a little longer. I'll also send you some early previews well before the entire set is ready for you.
Yes! Every single image will be edited, the colours will be corrected and enhanced so they 'pop' and the photo will be sharpened. Distracting elements will be removed from the frame. Additionally, images that you choose for your album will be given extra attention and more detailed retouching.
I am. If your wedding venue needs to see my certificate of insurance (they sometimes do) I can send it as a pdf document and I always carry a copy of it in my camera gear bag.
